Herbal Remedies For Depression
Has anyone here tried herbal supplements for depression? This is something that has been talked about for thousands of years and been researched and re-researched endlessly. What I would like to know is what everyone’s experience has been with these herbal remedies and if anyone has enjoyed a benefit from them?
Overall in makes a lot of sense that there are natural supplements out there that can benefit us in the day to day fashion. Everything from better mental health to reducing cold symptoms seems like it would be possible or at least benefit from adding the right herbal supplement. Much in the same way that having vitamins helps us to get more of what our bodies needs. So, the question of depression and how it is affected by an herbal remedy interest me because it seems like something that can have a truly positive effect, but I know in real terms of scientific study that the decision hasn’t been made yet.
Anyone that feels that they are suffering from states of depression should always make sure that they speak with a professional medical person. That should go without saying. It just seems like an herbal remedy for depression could work for when we are not feeling at our best and need a mental boost, which will hopefully reduce the need for more conventional medicine when it comes to depression. And I don’t mean eliminate the need but hopefully help us to require less dosage to still have whatever needed effect. Hopefully all of this makes sense. More than anything I liked the idea of herbal remedies having a natural source of stimulants and not something manufactured which can have extreme side effects.
The herbal remedies that I hear most about our St. John’s wort and ginkgo biloba. These seem to be the natural herbs that are most talked about and researched, and they seem to be the ones that everyone agrees have more of an impact on your mental functioning. So, if you are thinking of using an herbal supplement for depression these might be a good place to start your research and let us know what your experience has been.

Herbal Remedies For Anxiety
Has anyone here tried herbal remedies for anxiety? This is another topic seems to be talked about quite a bit and there is a lot of information on both sides as to what is and what is not effective. So I would like to find out what other people’s experience has been with natural remedies.
It only makes sense that there are natural supplements and herbal remedies that can help in terms of dealing with stress and reducing panic attacks. After all, all of our medications are based off of some sort of plant life or mineral that showed it had a healing quality. These herbs and minerals were researched and broken down to their basic elements so that scientists could manufacture a better version or a more potent version of the original herbal supplement. So an herbal remedy for anxiety is simply nature’s unbroken down original source for these nutrients and chemicals.
The problem I have is that there is always a debate as to what is effective and what does not work. When it comes to anxiety and especially acute panic attacks it is important to find something that will help reduce that state of panic that the individual gets into. My hope would be that an herbal remedy would have less chance of side effects because it is a pure form of the nutrient needed and not as concentrated as a manufacture drug. The only problem would be if somebody had a serious mental health needs that requires a far more potent drug.
Also it’s extremely important that any herbal remedies taken by an individual or reported to their doctor so that the health officials can give them an informed medical recommendation. It is so important that the herbal remedy does not somehow interfere with a prescribed drug. This could be devastating. Also it’s very important that you make sure no allergic reactions exist for the herb in question.
As you can see it doesn’t look like there are any easy answers for herbal supplements. Let us know what your experience has been with herbal remedies for anxiety and panic attacks.
